finding this funny pic and sending it to me. Dreamstime is the worlds largest stock photography community. I have to admit, even though it hurts when she bites my toes, I cannot resist laughing at her expression of surprise when I yell in pain. This is just too funny. Our Cockatoo Marshmellow has definitely been in that situation. Use them in commercial designs under lifetime, perpetual & worldwide rights. Many people with large birds, cockatoos, macaws, etc, tell about their birds not recognizing their feet and attacking the little wiggly things at the end (toes) with gusto! I am sure some of the smarter birds catch on and realize our feet and toes are us, but I can bear witness that my Senegal, Red-Bellied and (past) Meyers do not understand my feet are part of me. Less intelligent species and also baby parrots can be frightened by being touched by our other hand while being petted by our first hand they honestly are scared because where did that other hand come from and who does it belong to? Young birds learn about the two hands and then deal with that easily, but I have never been able to get Sunshine Senegal to understand that my feet/toes are attached to ME and hurt when she tries to rip off my toenails. You also have to remember that even to a cockatoo, we are HUGE creatures and our feet are probably not seen as being attached to the head and upper body our birds interact with.
